Ember of the Nine Realms

Ember of the Nine Realms is the kind of mobile RPG that respects your thumbs. Combat is turn-based, so you're never fumbling with twitchy controls on a small screen, and the auto-path makes exploring towns painless. But the real pull is the writing — the four party members bicker, forgive, and grow in ways that actually made me care who stayed in my front line.

The class and skill system is deep without being a spreadsheet. You can specialise a character over a dozen hours and still find a build you hadn't considered. Battles reward planning more than grinding, and bosses change their patterns halfway through, which keeps you honest.

It does lean on a stamina meter that occasionally nudged me to stop playing, but it never felt punishing. For a genre that usually overwhelms on phones, this one strikes a lovely balance.
