Can you actually finish a mobile RPG?
Mobile RPGs have a reputation for never ending — endless grind, stamina gates, the works. So the question I keep asking is whether a modern one can actually be finished in a reasonable number of hours.
The good news: more of them can now. Ember of the Nine Realms wrapped up in about eighteen hours for me, with a clear story arc and an ending that felt intentional rather than a wall I bounced off.
The trick, I think, is treating the stamina meter as a pacing tool rather than a leash. The best designers use it to say 'that's a good place to stop' instead of 'pay to keep going'.
If you want to finish an RPG on your phone, look for one with a defined story length and read a review that mentions pacing. Grind-forever games have their fans, but they're a different promise.
